Project Components

Project Components

The project has three specific components that comprise the core analytical framework of incursion infrastructures:

Social

The day-to-day workings of incursion infrastructure with relation to social, kinship and labour arrangements. This can include the syndicates, federations, corporate and political alliances, and smuggler networks that make up incursion economies, but also the environmental knowledge and strategies that incursion actors draw on.

Technical

The equipment, transport, energy, expertise, and supply chains deployed to work for informal activities, including technological advancements in mobile, satellite and drone technology.

Legal

The bureaucratic and legal routes that incursion actors exploit, such as forged or altered permits, trafficking of non-productive titles, ‘legalization’ of informally extracted products, or harnessing of quasi-legal instruments.
